History

A number of Japanese organizations took part in the process of the setting up of the Bulgarian Quality and Productivity Center. Besides the Japanese Bulgarian Committee for economic cooperation for 18 years now the following Japanese organizations have contributed a lot to the intensification of our cooperation:

» The Japan Productivity Center for Socio-Economic Development (JPC-SED);
» The Association for Overseas Technical Scholarships (AOTS);
» The Engineering and Consulting Firms Association (ECFA) in Japan;
» The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA);
» JETRO, JUSE, OVTA, JMA and etc.

In line with the technical assistance to Bulgaria Japan has been sending Japanese consultants and lecturers to our country, providing specialized literature and receiving Bulgarian specialists for training in Japan. This makes the BQPC a factor for the development of the Bulgarian - Japanese relations. A number of Bulgarian firms are the subject of the consulting missions, sent by the Japan Productivity Center. Open seminars, workshops, symposia and other forums are organized for a large scope of Bulgarian managers and specialists where visiting lecturers from Japan make the various techniques and approaches, which are typical for the Japanese style of management, more accessible for Bulgaria. The tendency of more intensive cooperation is in the way and new forms for its development and going deeper are sought.

As a result from expanding the BQPC activities and in the context of its establishment in the Bulgarian society as an organization that has been successful in the popularization of the Japan management, in 1993 the Management Board of the Center took a decision to found a Japan Management Center.

The Japan Management Center has been functioning since then incorporating the BQPC actions directed to a lasting and successful cooperation with Japan.
